While you’re still waiting for a perfect moment, someone else is out getting shit done because they decided making progress is more important than making excuses.
Us self-entitled narcissistic millennials love to think we’re making a difference in the world. We really do. Oh you think we are? We don’t do shit unless it promotes our self-image or results in a high magnitude of praise. We’re a generation succeeding in imitation leaving no trace of originality in our trail. As a matter of fact, many of us are too busy making excuses as opposed to taking daring risks to do something new or even something we love. As a result, we’re settling for a boring life with a safe job that we don’t like so we can buy shit we don’t need, look superficial and die.
“If I Could Be Like That, I Would Give Anything, Just To Live One Day, In Those Shoes”
As well as making excuses, we spend more time admiring the lives of others as opposed to building a life for ourselves. First things first, if you’re busy admiring the life of someone else, then your shit is broken. You should only be focused on your own life and what you can contribute. Like McGregor said, “Be your own inspiration”.
With this in mind, you need to stop dreaming and start working. Don’t be so focused on the attention that comes with success but more so with providing value to the people around you. The more you give, the more you get. Simple as. This might not seem like the easy way of doing things but it’s the right thing to do.
Stop making excuses like “I’m not good at anything” or “I can’t do it”. That’s quitting. You need to have patience, the confidence in yourself and the enthusiasm to help others out. Be resilient. It’s not that complicated but it isn’t easy.
I’m tired of making excuses but what do I do?
Like I said it’s not complicated but it isn’t easy. You need to ask yourself, “how can I make someone elses life better?”. I don’t want to hear either “I’m not good at anything”. Look, none of us get to choose how we start in this life, real greatness, that’s what you do with the hand you’re dealt. You don’t have to be clever, good looking or creative to even make a difference, just start by being kind. That’s the most important thing that matters. Positivity attracts positivity.
You want to make a difference ? Don’t seek recognition, seek impact. See the world the way a dog would see the world. To us a dog is only a part of our life but to them, we’re everything they got. Make somebody else feel that way about you. Start with one person at a time. That’s how you make a difference in this world.
Now stop making excuses and start making a difference !
